Deuteronomy
(6:4–9)

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
7 You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise.
8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

God has created us for one purpose: to discover the truth about His ultimate plans and intentions.
This entire universe exists for the sake of humanity. God created time, space, and matter, with the creations from Day 1 to Day 5 designed to serve Day 6, the day on which humanity was created. We are the central focus and the most valuable creations of His master plan. Day 7 refers to His presence; that is why He said He “rested.” In the New Testament, He invites us to “come into my rest” (Hebrews 4:9-11). Thus, the purpose of Day 6 is for Day 7, which represents the relationship between man and God. He created us to have a genuine, loving relationship with Him. This relationship is rooted in love, which is fundamentally a matter of the heart. A loving relationship cannot be expressed through empty words or approached with an indifferent heart. This is why He seeks true worshippers (John 4:23-24).

The concept of worship in Hebrew offers deeper insight than the English term. The Hebrew word for "worship" is "הִשְׁתַּחֲוָה" (hishtachavah), which literally means "to bow down" or "to prostrate oneself." It signifies total submission, respect, and giving Him our full attention, just as God has given His complete attention to us, even sacrificing His own Son to convey His message.

Let’s explore a few verses that highlight His love for us:

Jeremiah 31:3 3 The Lord appeared to him from far away: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”

1 John 4:9-10

9 In this, the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
God never abandons His creation, but we often turn away from Him by failing to acknowledge our Creator. To better understand His love, we should learn, study, and seek His wisdom and guidance. We do this because He has called us to be loved by Him.
